Q: My ipod5 is disabled  and I tried recovery mode and it didn't work. I can't do through iCloud. What do I do?

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Your problem seems to be that Recovery mode is timing out before the firmware download is completed.

Follow the instructions in the following to first download the firmware and then place the iPod in Recovery mode and restore via iTunes. Make sure you download the current iOS version for your iPod. For a 5G/6G it is 9.3.3 (or it could be 9.3.4) and make sure you download the firmware for you devices since iPhone firmware will not install on a iPod
