Apple Watch iMessage has two seperate conversations with the same person?

My new Apple Watch has a problem with iMessage and I know how to fix it on my iPhone but not AppleWatch?

On my iPhone my apple ID is connected to over 10 devices and sometimes when a new device is added, it also adds every address on my apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime and I always fix it by unticking the addresses I don't want in the settings app under 'Messages' and 'FaceTime'. However, this is not the same for AppleWatch as there is no such option in the settings on both the Apple Watch and the AppleWatch App on my iPhone.

I would like some help please?

Hi

Apple Watch uses the same settings (for how you can be reached and for how new conversations are started) for Messages as your iPhone.

If you have two separate conversations with the same person, the following steps may help:

  • On your iPhone, check whether there is more than one contact card in Contacts for that person (if so, remove the duplicate).
  • Delete old Messages conversations with that contact on each of your iPhone and watch:
    • iPhone: Messages app > swipe left on a message thread > delete.
    • Watch: open the Messages app (from the Home screen, which is accessed via single press on the Digital Crown) > swipe left on a message thread > tap on Trash / Delete.
  • On your iPhone in the Watch app: My Watch > General > Reset > tap on Reset Sync Data:
    • You will not see anything happen after tapping it (the process runs in the background, invisibly to the user).
    • Allow a minute or so to allow the process to complete.
  • Restart both your iPhone and your watch (turn both off together, then restart your iPhone first):
