Aug 11, 2016 10:20 AM in response to Valo_Soulby rkaufmann87,So you reset and updated the firmware on both the modem and router? If so and you still aren't having luck, try another router. It's clearly something to do with your installation and if it's happening in 3 different Macs then the single thing they have in common is your network.

Aug 11, 2016 10:23 AM in response to Valo_Soulby dialabrain,Are you still on the same ISP you were on when you also had this problem? If so, I would check with them.

Aug 11, 2016 10:37 AM in response to dialabrainby Valo_Soul,Different ISP.
And now I've just discovered that Spotify web player won't work in Safari. It worked perfectly up until I made all of these changes and resets to Safari, suggested above. :S

Aug 11, 2016 10:46 AM in response to Valo_Soulby dialabrain,Well, I for one am stumped. I don't see how it's possible to have the same problem on three different Macs with two different ISPs at two different locations. Good luck though.

Aug 11, 2016 11:14 AM in response to dialabrainby Valo_Soul,I don't understand any of it whatsoever. Spotify will work after about 15 minutes of refreshing... and then if I refresh again, it stops working. It just says "Connecting to Spotify" and shows the spinning "loading" icon, and it never connects. Exactly what it does with some YouTube videos.
Chrome runs Spotify perfectly, just like it does Youtube. I just strongly prefer to be able to continue using Safari. This is driving me crazy.
EDIT* Now all of a sudden - Spotify web player doesn't work on Chrome either...... what the heck.

Aug 11, 2016 11:23 AM in response to Valo_Soulby rkaufmann87,I am at a loss too. The only thing I can think of suggesting is to install a fresh install of OS X on an external HD. This will require available space and the EHD formatted to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with a GUID partition. Then boot the iMac into the Recovery Partition by holding down Command + R on startup. Then install OS X on the EHD. Next boot from that EHD by holding down Option when rebooting the Mac and selecting the EHD. Then try testing on the fresh install. If YouTube works okay in Safari, this clearly points to a problem with your installation(s) and means they will need to be reformatted and re-installed.
You also mentioned you have a MBP, you could take that to another site and test using their Wi-Fi which would eliminate your ISP and Network issue if the problem persists.

Aug 11, 2016 11:26 AM in response to rkaufmann87by Valo_Soul,Thank you once more.
As I mentioned; I connected my MBP and iMac to a personal hotspot from my iPhone, which takes my ISP out of the equation. The issue remains.
It's incredibly puzzling... because there is no way all three computers need a complete reformat/install of OSX to make Safari work properly.
