Q: Some tracks from an album not downloading on all devices through Family Share

Hello!

My wife purchased the Hamilton Soundtrack on her iPhone and downloaded all tracks, no problem.

I was able to download all tracks to my desktop iTunes, no problem.

So Family Share seems to be working to a point.

However, other devices (iPhone, iPad) don't download all tracks when downloading the album. To add insult to confusion, the iTunes store when accessed via those devices asks me to re-purchase the tracks that didn't download correctly.

I just updated both devices to most recent iOS to ensure that wasn't the issue.

The two particular devices that are encountering this issue are the following:

iPad Mini, iOS 9.3.4

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.4

Thanks in advance for any insight.

The tracks don't show under her id in the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store app on the iPad and iPhone for downloading ? If they don't then has she hidden them from the cloud : Hide and unhide iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store purchases - Apple Support ?

I followed the directions to Hide and then Unhide the entire album though the desktop iTunes. No change in availability on the devices.

Was just informed a third device is affected: iPod 4, iOS 9.3.4

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello again,

More information, in case it helps...

I have confirmed that all members have signed in correctly with their devices. I have downloaded the entire soundtrack of Hamilton, all 46 songs, onto my desktop. I created a playlist, loaded in the songs. On my phone, I was able to see the playlist and download all 46 songs.

On all of the family share devices, when I access the Purchased screen, it only shows 33 songs available for download. Weird, right?

And then on those devices when I go to the iTunes store page for the soundtrack, it shows the PLAY button for the 33 songs that are showing as available, but has a $1.29 button for the 13 not.

I have confirmed that this was purchased at full price (not song by song) early in July.

I'm at a loss. Maybe it's time to contact Support, but I figured I'd give it one more shot here.

    Thanks again!

So to try and check my understanding :

    - your wife bought the album on her account

    - you are logged into your own account on your desktop, and all 46 tracks showed in Purchased when looking at her account (and you were able to download them)

    - the iPad, iPod and iPhone, they are logged into other account(s) (not your or your wife's account ?) that are part of the family but they only see 33 tracks

Have you/they tried logging out and back into the account(s) on those devices ? Apart from the tracks being hidden, the only other thing which I can think of that would stop them showing is if they had explicit content on them and that was restricted on the devices.

Hello! Thanks again for helping me try to puzzle this out.

OK, I probably confused issues by talking about who did what.

The Soundtrack was purchased on the primary AppleID of the Family Share. All of the other devices are logged into their AppleIDs that are on the Family Share, and all can download 33 of the 46 songs.

I thought about the possibility of the Explicit content issue, but, alas, the songs that are showing unpurchased on the other devices are not all Explicit.

I have tried the sign out/sign in, restart device...to no avail. Time to send a message to Support, I think. I'll post the final answer here.

    Thanks again.

I am having the exact same problem.  I can only download 33 songs through family share.  I purchased the edited version of Hamilton with 46 songs.
