Q: Create a bootable installer for OS 10.8.5

I am using a macbook 2012mid ssd 2.5 running os 10.8.5 to make a bootable usb installer for LINUX OS to use on a Pentium PC running XP Pro, 32 bit 3.6 tower, with out any sucess. I can create bootable cd's for both osx and windows on both pc and mac, but he installers menus lack the choices of destination or if i try other ways of choosing the iso i need grayed out. Can you help?
