Apple Watch not connecting to iPhone 6

After updating my iPhone 6 to IOS 9.3.3 all my saved bluetooth devices were gone including my Apple Watch. Now it doesn't show up under 'other devices' so I can't connect it. I've already turned my bluetooth on and off and reset my iPhone but nothing has worked. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi

Your watch is not supposed to be listed under "Other Devices" on your iPhone (Settings > Bluetooth), although it should be listed under "My Devices".

To check the status of your watch's connection to your iPhone, go to the Settings Glance on your watch:

  • When viewing the time on your watch face, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen, then swipe left / right until you find the Settings Glance. This will state either Connected or Disconnected:
    • Connected and a green phone symbol at the upper-right corner shows that watch is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
    • Connected and a green cloud symbol shows that your watch is disconnected from your iPhone via Bluetooth, but has instead connected (as a fallback) to a known Wi-Fi network.
    • Disconnected shows that your watch is disconnected from your iPhone and also is not connected to a Wi-Fi network. The symbol at the upper-right corner will be a red phone with a line through it. The same symbol will also be show at the top of the watch face.
  • Swipe down again to return to the watch face.

Disconnections can be normal, when the watch loses the Bluetooth connection with the paired iPhone (such as when updating iOS) and no known W-Fi network is available.

The devices should reconnect automatically a short while after becoming available and/or being brought close together again. If they do not, keep your iPhone and watch close by each other and follow these steps until they do:

  • Check that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your iPhone:
    • It may help to toggle Bluetooth off and on again on your iPhone (Settings > Bluetooth).
    • For the best performance from your watch during general daily wear, keep both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi permanently enabled on your iPhone.
  • Check that Airplane Mode is not enabled on your watch:
    • When viewing the time on your watch, swipe up on the watch face > swipe left / right to the Settings Glance.
    • If your watch is not connected and Airplane Mode is turned on, tap the button to turn it off.
    • It may otherwise help to toggle Airplane Mode on and off again.
  • Restart both devices, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first.

If they still do not reconnect, next try unpairing and re-pairing your watch (choose to Restore from Backup if offered the option):
