Q: Latest iOS update and charging cables

IF I install the latest iOS update will my non-Apple charging cords quit working?

iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.4

I would have said no, but there are a couple of posts regarding post-update charging issues. I'm not certain if it is the cables or something else. What build are you running now?

TT2, I have an iPhone 5 and older iPad so I don't want to have issues as I not quite ready to give up either. Thanks for your reply!

You're welcome. Here is the thread that suggested it might be wise to be cautious. Installed update and now won't charge. That said I updated both my iPhone 6 plus and iPad 2 and both are doing fine. I do run Apple cables though.
