I Am trying to build albums in my iPhoto and stop using events.
Once I have created photo albums for each of my categories can I've been safely delete iPhoto events so as not to have both?u

Events and albums are both simply different ways to view he photos in your library and events are automatically created and can not be removed - you can ignore them but you can not get rid of them
Photos are not in events nor are they in albums - they are in the library and there are many different ways to view them including albums and events
