am new to Photos and have a new iMac. i've been marking quite a few photos as favourites (heart symbol) on my new iPhone.
i'm trying to work out how those favourites can show up in Photos on my imac. i really need all the favourites to be synced.
any pointers much appreciated. thanks 🙂

How are you Syncing? iTunes sync? iCloud Photo Library? How?

thanks for the reply. i'm just plugging my iphone into the imac and importing the photos.
none of my favourites are being carried over that i've marked on the iphone.
Importing and syncing are not the same thing - there is no way to do it importing that I have discovered - if you were using iCLoud Photo Library you could put them in an album on the iPhone and then the album with its photos would sync

i am just setting up an icloud account and hope i'll be able to figure it out that way.
also i will need my iphone edited photos to be there too - apparently icloud stores them there.
only sometimes the edited photos show up in Photos - other times not. it's very frustrating and unclear how it all works...
With iCloud Photo Library all connected libraries are kept in sync - any change (addition, deletion or edit) made on any device is made on all devices - all libraries will be kept identical

thanks for the info. i'll have a look around tomorrow and familiarise myself with icloud.
i've just set up icloud and all my photos have been uploaded. however the photos i've edited are not showing up in icloud. it's only showing the originals. strange...
