Not heard of a glitch that locks your account for a few weeks. If your account becomes locked Apple should be able to assist in fixing the problem, or the card details.

This apple suppoort page has details and contact details on contacting Apple Support to help unblock the account If your Apple ID is locked - Apple Support

How has she been contacting Apple? I cant think of a reason Apple wouldn't be able to unblock an account. If it was a credit card issue, they could just remove the payment or at least give more details on the problem.

Only official way to contact apple is using apple.com - just in case she has managed to find a dodgy site or something. Also bear in mind Apple should never ask you for your password for full payment details over the phone.

I would go back to Apple using the link above and raise it with them again - or at least find out more details over what the problem is specifically.

thank you for replying. i also agree with you as apple surely would've sorted it the first time she contacted them. I have sent her your reply cos i found it all a bit strange too and wanted to make sure there wasn't any such glitch

Hopefully she gets it sorted. I doubt Apple would have a non-fixable glitch for a few weeks, if so they would be loosing a lot of revenue in purchases and confidence from their users.

Let us know how goes, might help some other people if this happens again.

ITs still not sorted and she took her phone into Apple to make sure it was Apple customer support she was speaking to and amazingly it is    its something to do with the two step verification as it can be glitchy. She hasnt been able to get onto her account in over two weeks and needs to get to important emails and has been on phone for hours and hours with the techs in Apple and its still not sorted out so god knows when it will be sorted. Thankyou for all your replies, will leave post running as there may be others
