Few drops of water damage - no sim card error

Hello, so I have an iphone 6s and i think a bit of water spilled on my phone at night while it flooded my shelf.i didnt notice at first that iphone is in water too since it was dry but when i removed a rubber case it was wet under it. Everything seems to be working perfectly except my sim card! when i removed the sim card tray there was a slight moisture. The liquid contact sticker is red too 😢

Ive tried

  • using pieces of toilet paper and sliding inside the sim card slot
  • blowdry it a bit but im not sure if it wont corrode it

Should I just leave it and pray for something to happen? Should I go to apple store and just be treated like **** by the genius/brain/stuck up bar being told I have to buy a new one? Or what?

i have no idea when it spilled but between 5-10 am. it's now 12:00. i noticed it at 11:00 morning so about an hour ago. Please help me, I hope it isn't too late yet.

Thank you

Hi

Contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation to establish your available service options, timescales and cost.

Do not turn on, use or charge your iPhone whilst moisture may be present.

You may want to consider leaving that snarky attitude behind if you go to an Apple Store intending to ask people you don't even know to actually help you. And if your device is water damaged, then an OoW replacement will indeed be the likely recommendation, as Apple does not and never has repaired iDevices piecemeal in their stores, so they are not going to tear it down to repair or replace the SIM connector.

Im not "Snarky". Maybe it's different where you are but here in Poland they think they're better than you if you come with an iPhone say, 5s. My friend had a "Well I wouldnt even bother with such an old phone" and a smirk after she went with hers a week after iphone 6 premiere.

I dont expect them to replace it in store ffs. I just dont want to be treated like an idiot because I have questions.

Back to the topic, what is OoW?

If you go in with the kind of attitude you've displayed here right from your first post, I'm not surprised that people have not been especially interested in helping you. Make an appointment. Be polite. If you don't like the service you're getting, POLITELY ask to speak to the manager. Do no, under any circumstances, use the profanity you've used here.

A) As long as I don't violate the Terms of Use of these forums, I'm free (as are you) to post as I see fit. B) You're post were not removed because they were critical of Apple but because they were rude. C) Threads do not get closed. If the posts are especially egregious violations of the TOU, they may get removed.

My advice still stands.
