Q: iBooks syncing problems and disappering mystery

When launching iBooks the other day I noticed that all of my previously synced books had mysteriously disappeared from my library. When I reconnected to iTunes, I selected the option to sync all books. The strange thing is that while my iPhone was in the process of syncing, I had the iBooks app open and immediately after the book showed up on the device it vanished! I have never had this issue before. Please help, as I am fed up of going round in circles trying to fix the problem with family sharing.

    Hello RichardES15,

    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding your books are disappearing after they've been synced from iTunes. I can surely understand how this would be concerning. I want to make sure you're able to access your books.

    Please follow the steps below:

    1. Confirm your Apple ID is correct in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPhone.
    2. Restart your iPhone

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

    Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    3. Make sure your software is up to date.
    Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
