ipod will play a few songs. then it will says not connteced< but it is still connected. was told ipod needs update
Is this iPod connected to the car via Bluetooth or USB? What or who told you that iPod needs update?
I have tryed both ways to correct ipod. Usb & Bluetooth. Tech at car dealership. Have tryed with older model of ipod. No problems. Works fine. Ipod was purchased last year
Okay, so it seems this must be an iPod touch, since you are connecting with Bluetooth. Have you connected this device to any other Bluetooth devices before? If so, did you experience any difficulty? What is the year and make of the vehicle? You mention the dealership. What did they have to say about the particular model of iPod that you have being supported by the vehicle and the Bluetooth? Does it show from them as being compatible?
The ipod was purchased last year. It is a 16gb. Model mkn52ll. I used the ipod with Bluetooth headphones. Worked fine.
Okay, it appears that model number is for an iPod Nano, which supports Bluetooth 4.0. If the device works with Bluetooth headphones, then the error is on the vehicle side. You need to check back with the dealer to find out if the vehicle supports Bluetooth v4.0, an if they have any updates to the audio system. As far as the USB connection, that should not stop working, so they should check that as well.
They did do an update. As of today. Nothing works. I plugged in my wife's old ipod. It worked fine with no problems.
Try updating your iPod operating system.
