Thanks for asking your question here in the Apple Support Communities. It seems that you are experiencing issues with the Touch ID. Here are the steps I would do to correct this.
First, if you can use the numerical passcode to get into the device, then please check this article for help with the Touch ID: Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad. If you have worked through all those steps in the Get Help with Touch ID section, then please try removing all your fingerprints saved in the device and try setting up new ones. Test if the new fingerprints work.
If you are not able get into the device using the passcode, then please check this help article: If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled.
