The only database installed with OS X 10.11.6 is sqlite3. You have to obtain, install, and securely configure the compatible Oracle database and associated distributed Oracle products that your employer uses — on OS X.

Your corporate Oracle DBA and administrative staff may or may not be willing to grant you remote access to the corporate database server. Adding all this Oracle cruft to your home Mac will not improve its performance.

Are you trying to access an Oracle product?

Or are you an Oracle Employee, and you are trying to VPN into Oracle from your Mac?

You will need to get the Oracle provided Mac VPN client.

I suggest you contact some of your co-workers and ask them where you can download the VPN client.

    Hello BeckBa,

Oracle IT would have to give you software, instructions, and VPN access credentials. We can't help you get into Oracle's network.
