Blue tooth keyboard went crazy. The cursor started jumping all over the place and typing different characters at random. I had very little control. I removed the batteries and connected a usb keyboard. All is well now. What's going on?

Check to see if the batteries need replacing.

Open System Preferences > Keyboard then select the Keyboard tab.

Battery level is noted bottom left side of that pane.

I did that. Changed the batteies. Shows 100%.  The bluetooth icon in the menu bar is different also. Theres a dotted line through it. Mouse works fine. It is bluetooth also. If I remove the batteries from the mouse and use usb mouse, the icon goes back to normal.
