Q: audio midi overrides settings

I'm not sure whether this is an issue with the audio midi app or my amplifier. I've raised it in the iTunes forums but it's been suggested that this forum is probably more appropriate.

I have a Devialet amp connected to a Mac Mini via usb for streaming music. In order to play music I need to select 'Devialet USB' in the audio midi settings first. The Devialet can also connect wirelessly to my network an although I have that channel disabled its icon remains in the audio midi list.

Selecting the usb pathway has been fine for months but recently, whenever I choose it and start playing music the audio midi selection changes to 'Devialet AIR'. It doesn't affect the music and I'm not sure whether streaming has actually changed to a wireless channel, but I'm confused as to why it should be doing this. I'm even more confused as to why it has only started doing so recently. Has there been any software upgrade that might have affected the audio midi?

Given that music still plays it's easy enough to leave things as they are, but I'd still prefer to know whether there is a settings problem that I can't identify and, if so, how I can fix it.

Any assistance appreciated.
