iBook Author Direct Upload

Hi

I have heard it is better to upload books via iBooks Author rather than distribute via an aggregator. Most of my books are available at iTunes via Smashwords but I don't get many sales on Apple whereas I've heard tell that those who do well with Apple sales are those who do direct uploads.

I'd really be interested in whether it's worth my uploading direct via iBooks author.
