It appears you're getting some messages on your Sprint iPhone 6 from numbers you don't recognize. It's definitely not expected behavior to receive random messages, over and over, from people you don't know; I would be concerned by this too. Don't worry though, we can help you get this sorted out.
To prevent those numbers from contacting you further, and to stop receiving notifications when they do attempt to message you, follow these steps to block them:
- Open up Messages.
- Open the conversation from the number you want to block.
- Tap Details, which is located in the upper-right corner of the screen, and then tap
. - Scroll down to the very bottom of the screen and tap Block this Caller.
If you're like me, you may have a lot of old message threads in the Messages app that you don't want to have to sift through to find the unwanted messages from numbers that are not listed as a contact. If the unwanted messages are being delivered to you via iMessage, you can filter the messages from within the Messages app. Filtering your iMessages would make it so that only messages from numbers not listed as a contact in your device would be shown. This way it's easier for you to find the numbers you want to block. For more information on this, as well as the steps to filter iMessages, use the following support article:
Block phone numbers and contacts or filter messages on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch
In addition to filtering iMessages within Messages, you can also report those unwanted messages as spam right from within Messages, which is the best next step after blocking them. Follow the steps under the section titled "Report spam or junk in the Messages app" from within the aforementioned article to report the messages. If those messages are being delivered to you via text message (SMS) or picture message (MMS) rather than iMessage, contact your carrier to report the messages to them.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Have an awesome day!
