Buy a phone, drop the phone, pick up the broken pieces. Video the entire scene, and post to youtube.
Buy another phone, dunk in water, throw away now damaged phone. Video the entire scene, and post to youtube.
Those people are crazy. When the iPad Air came out one person dropped one from waist height and the screen shattered. Repeating his test the screen shattered more.
You can however be useful by testing the new software by joining Apple's Public Beta Program.
Correct. But it's iPhone software. Anything is better then purposefully destroying new merchandise.
Most of the cars I've owned cost less then a new iPhone. Never once did I feel the need to crash into a wall to see if I'd get fender damage.

That would be something, eh? They will pay security researchers up to $200,000 for exposing iOS security flaws, so maybe they will pay users to discover how easily (or difficult) the iPhone breaks! đ
There may be an unstated means whereby those who do this
could be compensated through some insurance fraud claims
to replace those items they've damaged.
If certain persons were to video the re-occurrence of these
happenings, and be identified by their homeowner or renter
or other 'damage insurer' - to have posted evidence online
would be one way of self-incrimination - to say the least... đ
If they did maybe we'd get more creative YouTube videos.
"Great Dane eats iPhone 7. Listen to his stomach ring."
"Wing your iPhone 7 like a frisbee. Overhead, sidearm, and underhand methods shown."
"iPhone 7 videos from inside a washing machine."
"Leave iPhone 7 unattended on subway car."
'Rainforest Fresh' about kills the joy right out of dog toys...
Ask any self-respecting canine, or perform a survey by
comparison field testing; throw their prized toy in game
of fetch, to see how much interest clean/new ones get.đ
The only people who "legitimately" get Apple test hardware are those who work for magazines and such. And their employer or sponsor buys the device for them - Apple doesn't give it to them.
Some of those youtuber's who post drop tests and other such videos may feel the expense is worth it if they can generate enough revenue from their channel to justify buying devices to destroy them?
Stedman is (of course) right... those people have (MUCH) more money than sense. They buy these devices and purposely ruin them to make WHAT POINT? Nothing is invincible?

That's for testing the software, though.
Ain't that the truth.
Rereading your first post I must thank you for the clarification. I editted so no one will think Apple will pay to destroy iPhones.
"iPhone 7 videos from inside a washing machine."
Thanks. The dog should have buried the iPhone. How dare his person hide his rabbit in the washer.
Yes.
Dog slobber only improves the quality of the toy for the dog...
it is not supposed to be "clean & fresh smelling" = all ruined now
