Q: I want to create an @icloud.com Apple ID on my iPhone and then change the email address in my current Apple ID to the @icloud.com email address. Wil this work or will I loose all my purchases?

    You don't need to create a new Apple ID just to change the email associated with it. And Yes, all your previous purchases will remain forever tied to that older ID.

    Thanks, I want to get an @icloud.com email address and the only way I see to get one is to create an Apple ID on an iOS device. Of course I really do not want two Apple IDs so I was hoping to move all my music apps and Mac purchases to the @icloud.com email address and get rid of my old email address by updating the original Apple ID with the @icloud.com email address.
