Try a restart.

Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolating an issue by using another user account

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Hi dear Eric. Thank you for your time to post these troubleshooting steps but i have recently (actually is 2 days now that i running a completely new clean installation and is the 10 time? (:

Now i running latest Yosemite because i couldnt making El Capitan running as i wanted and as i expected as a new OS X

So.. to not write what i facing...anyway..

All the times i have done installations even in new hard drives and without connecting it to internet just to be sure that nothing changing my preferences I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM.

So i guess is something wrong at downloads from app store.

I tried different installations methods but all the time the same problem. I didnt had not even one problem with my Snow Leopard because Apple had the original OSX DVD included with my old iMac..

i think something is wrong with installation files. i facing many problems and when i fixing something something else arriving..

Currently i gave up with El Capitan and i got back to Yosemite but i have exactly the same problem as the title and i dont know how to fix it..

i have done all these you suggest....except that all the times i deleting the guest files and disabling it from the very start.

Yes..i know about the red traffic light..also about orange and green dear VikingOSX... 🙂 I'm not 5 years old or having an iphone....

Just know that with the red dot at the top left i didnt had success. This didnt worked even with Snow Leopard.

But thanks for your reply.

Maybe the purpose of yellow traffic light is to minimize the application while is still open?

or the green to maximize it?

these are principal from the very first time....

I talking about when i closing these 2 applications even with red ,even with every known way they still running at background.

Anyway i did something accidentally and it looks that i solved it.

I Removed all the languages that i dont use and i dont even knew with the help of Monolingual and i dont know why it fixed.

Also i dont have anymore slow responsives and sluggishness from my machine.

I Did and some heavy deep cleaning with the help of an application and is going well from overnight now...

Also the command "command Q" ddidnt worked as it should with these two applications.

Lets see.

Unless an application is explicitly coded to quit on clicking the red traffic light, then it will not quit. In print, we use the terminology command+Q, but in practice, you do not use the shift key to make that 'Q' capital on the keyboard. This is a universal sequence for quitting Mac applications, providing they are frontmost when it is applied.

Yeah, I am not five either, and yes, there are sharp five year olds reading these posts. Don't assume that others that are trying to help you — are attempting to insult your intelligence, or are mind readers.

Yes i know all these methods but i wanted to know why none of these didnt worked.

Till now after i removed these uneeded language files its going well..Alhought this i see as looking to folders is that from many applications the english language is incomplete Many localisations and lproj are incomplete. And i didnt touch any version of English language. Its very strange.

Ok you re not mind reader and for kids yes are many kids sharp enough...but they are not sharp enough to know how to use technology for good reason. Anyway this is another story.Any way i didnt wanted to make you feel bad with this and thank you for trying to help...

As i see something is wrong with installation files from App store when OSx is downloaded and i dont know a way to find a complete latest Yosemite installer including everything and compatible to my iMac only, not for iphone or any other apple device. After all i dont own any of these.

It looks that Apple did a general installer as i see. Do you know how to fix this?

When i bought my old i mac they had dvd included and i never had any problem

Since i bought this imac is unusable.its obvious that something is missing or not fit and what else? It's the OSX installer.

i tried also El Capitan all versions but i had same problems.

I got an official installer of Yosemite from a mac friend which i running now for 3 days and is much better but still not good.

Its not teh installation procedure...Something is wrong with the installer.

If you want dear VikingOSX take a look at this thread..i have some posts there too about my issue...I think is related...

i cant be the only one having so many problems. (:

Re: El Capitan running slowly?

Its not if it is El Capitan or Yosemite..i having almost same problems. With Yosemite is little better... even if El Capitan is newer.

The common things to both is that are downloaded from App store.
