Why is my ipad disabled?
Are there any reasons why my ipad became disabled other than someone else trying the wrong password?
I would rather believe there was an alternative reason...
Thank you.

Does the screen look like this (but saying 'iPad', of course) ?
If it does, your iPad is disabled because an incorrect passcode was entered too many times. See If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support for more help.
If it doesn't, what do you mean by 'disabled' ? Are you sure it's not telling you your Apple ID is disabled, as opposed to your iPad being disabled ?
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, exactly like this, except ipad. I do not wish to accuse the person I live with of trying to get into my ipad (she knew my old pass-code numbers, but I recently changed them) so was hoping there might be an alternative reason, such as an Apple ipad glitch.
I have now got into it - it was obviously a temporary lock and not too many attempts made to access it.
It is possible it was not someone who took your iPad. A glitch could create 'false touch'. Also, if you pressed the power button or the main button by mistake, touch on the screen could be taken as attempts to enter a code (the contact of a protective bag while you move, depending on what the bag made of, etc.)
Thank you.
