Q: More wifi issues after 9.3.4

I have tried everything suggested on the discussion boards and a tech I spoke to insists it's an issue with my device, not an issue with the update. If resetting network settings, resetting the router, forgetting all networks and turning all devices on and off do not fix this, does anyone have any suggestions? My ipad finds my home router just fine, but it cannot connect.

    What message do you get? Is it "incorrect password", "cannot connect", or something else? If it's "cannot connect", please check that the router has not implemented access control based on the device MAC address. You'll find it in the router's advanced settings.     Can't connect. I've done troubleshooting on the router and the issue still exists. My phone will connect fine but my ipad refuses to connect.

    Hi

    Do other devices connect to router ?

    Turn router off for 30 seconds when its back on reset network settings again

    On iPad then enter your router wireless key .

    Have you tried wifi on a friends router or at a public wifi spot that will tell if its

    Your router or your ipad.

    Let me know what happens .

    My phone and fire stick are connected with no issues. I've tried a friend's router and it also will not connect. It seems that anything password protected is being denied, so I believe the recent security update affected my ipad.

    Just to confirm, you have reset network settings, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, and restarted the iPad by holding Sleep and Home buttons until you see the Apple? Those two steps will ensure the device has no bad memories when you try to connect.

    Yes, several times. The only progress I've made is the ipad will connect to my guest network that had no security password. However it drops the connection seconds later. There is no stability in the connection and it absolutely will not connect to my password-protected network.

    I'd suggest WiFi interference, but you had the same problem at another location, so that's less likely. It could be an actual hardware problem.

    Same issue here! My Iphone and my Apple TV connect no problem, but Ipad Air2 will not connect to any wifi after update. I have done resets and installs, went to Apple store and they said my Ipad is fine. Now what???

    Exactly! There are so many reports of this issue online, yet Apple refuses to acknowledge that there's an issue. Rather coincidental that tons of iPads lose connectivity at the same time! I just want an answer.

    If this was happening to a lot of iPad or other iDevice models, we would be seeing a LOT more cases of it posted in these community forums.

    This simply isn't the case.

    Not every iDevice is being affected.

    Did your iPad connect up fine and stay connected on the Apple Store's WiFi network?

     

    Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad?

    Have you tried turning Airplane mode ON, connect to Wifi, then turn Airplane mode OFF, again?

    Have you tried going on your computer to access your MODEM/router settings and changing the Wifi channel on your router to some other channel other than the default channel 6, which every router manufacturer sets their WiFi MODEM/router to?

    You can try switching the MODEM/router between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequecies.

    Try changing to Google's DNS:  Settings > Wi-Fi > Click on the Network, Delete all numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or alternatively 8.8.4.4 or use OpenDNS. 208.67.222.123, 208.67.220.123.

    Tried relaxing some of the security settings on the MODEM/router to test?

    Also, check to see what WIfi security Encryption settings are being used and maybe change this setting, as well.

    Have you tried, backing up your iPad to the latest iTunes version on a computer and completely erase and set your iPad up as a new device, again?

    Test it for Wifi stability, then restore your device from your iTunes backup?

    Have experienced the exact same problem...rebooted iPad, reset network settings, rebooted router to no avail.  Decided to upgrade the firmware on my apple router and network extenders.  Problem fixed.
