Q: iCloud beta restore possible?
I have done my diligence in trying to find the answers, however can't seem to get a 'great' answer. I have the most current beta software running on my iPhone 6 and continue to do iCloud backups. I also backup to iTunes every few days manually, however not as frequently as iCloud backups occur on their own.
I have reviewed this website: About iOS beta software - Apple Support
In specific terms, it states: You won’t be able to use an iCloud backup or one you didn’t archive if you go back to the current version of iOS.
However, does this also mean that I can't use an iCloud backup if I restore to the BETA version that I have now? If I did a full restore, will it restore directly back to the beta version or will it simply just not work and I have to start with a blank phone? Am I wasting my time using iCloud (or even iTunes) and really don't have any backup of my device?
In simplicity, I'm just wondering if I can do a restore (and how) and have the device back to the beta version that I had at the time the phone was replaced. Has anyone done this and had success? I'm getting a new phone shortly, and without a backup that works, I'm concerned that I'll have to start over completely. Can I restore the beta OS to the new phone?
