Q: Syncing contacts with Outlook and iCloud

Hi everyone,

today, after I've synced my contacts with outlook and after an iCloud contacts backup, I've found out that I have too many contact in my phone that I don't need. Therefore I would like to delete some of them. My questions are:

1) if I delete the contacts that I don't need using outlook and then I connect the iPhone with iTunes as I usually do (outlook's and iPhone's contact sync automatically), would this deleted contacts be deleted from the iPhone as well  or will they appear on outlook again since they may result as "new contacts" from the phone?

2) how do I make sure they are  also deleted form the cloud?

I will be very glad if someone could help me before I make a mess

tthanks

    Hello Ceciola,

So I understand that you would like to remove some unwanted contacts from your iPhone using iTunes. To organize your contacts, I would import all of the outlook contacts into iCloud so you would no longer need to sync that data via the iTunes App. But to answer your questions:

    1. You would need to delete the contacts from the iTunes library and not the iPhone itself so when you re sync, it will not add the same contacts back to the device.

    2. To manage your iCloud contacts, please visit www.iCloud.com  . Sign in with the Apple ID you use with your iPhone, then click on the iCloud contacts icon.

Please note: You will not be able to sync your contacts via iTunes and iCloud simultaneously.

Try exporting your outlook contacts as vCards to a folder on your computer then importing them into your iCloud contacts. If you have not already done so, please download the  iCloud for Windows app. You can use this link below for more assistance with Outlook and iCloud
