Can I recover text messages that just disappeared from my phone?
my text messages just started disappearing. I haven't changed any settings. Can I recover them?
If you have an iTunes or iCloud backup, then yes. If not, then no.

Thank you! I tried to restore my phone thinking that would do it and no such luck.
The backup would have to be from a time when the messages were still on your phone.
I am going to better about backing up. What would cause that all of the sudden? I didn't change any settings. Just thinking I'd like to try and prevent it from happening again.
Unfortunately, without being there when it happened, it's hard to say what caused it.
