Q: itunes for windows
Hi all. iTunes is showing many duplicates in the song list. I've installed iTunes, deleted every suspicious looking .xml file, deleted everything that looked like it might be associated with iTunes, checked the music folder, deleted music stored in user accounts and default Windows media folders (ie C:\Users\MyPC\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media) reinstalled iTunes and the duplicates are still there.
I painstakingly went through the song files and deleted 600 duplicates manually, but these were only the files that itunes wants to (annoyingly) copy when synching with the cloud (ie xxxx.mp3, xxxx 1.mp3, xxxx 2.mp3). That's not the problem. There is definitely only one file per song. iTunes must be accessing a data file that I've missed for this to happen.
It's **** annoying, and should be a lot simpler to fix than it is. The files are kept on a NAS drive that is "set up" for iTunes.
Please help!
