Iphone6 keeps freezing even after restore

My iphone6 touch screen has been unresponsive and at times acts possessed opening and closing apps and pressing other random things without me touching the screen.

I have done a backup and restored the iphone to factory settings, then restored from backup. My sister who used to work at apple genius bar told me that my backup is corrupted and I need to restore the phone like its brand new.

My question is, how do I do this without losing all the data on my apps (in particular all the documents/PDF's I've saved in ibooks), my contact list etc If I have my apps backed up on itunes, can I sync them back onto my phone without losing all the data, but also without having to use the same "corrupted backup"? Hope that makes sense.

Hello ka30,

I understand that your iPhone continues to freeze up after restoring your backup. If you are only in need of the contacts and documents, using iCloud may prove to benefit you. I would update your Mac and iPhone to the latest version and then back the iPhone up via iCloud. Then use iCloud Drive to store your and sync your documents. You can then restore the device to factory settings, set up the device like new and sign into your iCloud account to sync the contacts and documents stored in iCloud. You may need to import your contact list into iCloud if they are not already stored there. The links below can assist you with these tasks.
