Q: Apple watch 42 or 38 mm?

Hello!

Which size watch would you recommend for a 17 year old?  I am wondering if the 42 would be too big for his wrist?  I haven't seen these sizes in person so any advice would help.  I am wondering if the 42 would just look huge on his wrist.  Thanks!

If possible, try on Apple Watch at an Apple Retail Store or other authorised retailer.

Keep in mind that bands vary in length. If buying online, it may help to measure wrist circumference and then check the band length details. In the Apple Online Store, on the product page for any given watch band, see under Product Information > Overview.

You can also compare the watch case sizes using the Apple Store app on iPhone:

    • In the Apple Store app, go to: Shop (tab) > Apple Watch > choose a model (eg Sport) > tap on Compare case sizes.
    • This will show the 38mm and 42mm cases at their actual size, so you can hold them up against the wrist to see what they would look like.
