Q: Apple Watch
Ever since I up to 9.3.4 my watch no longer recognizes activity. My calorie and stand still works, but a workout reads as no activity. To fix the issue, I have to unpair, then repair the watch every morning. Today I had the same issue and tried to turn off both the watch and phone but this did not work.
This is tedious.
Is there a fix to this issue?

Hi
The following steps may help:
- If you have not yet done so, update your watch to the latest software:
- Check that Wrist Detection is turned on and that, if passcode is enabled, you are unlocking your watch after placing it on your wrist
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wrist Detection - turn on.
- Check that you are wearing your watch sufficiently snugly on the top of your wrist (if it is worn too loosely, your watch may believe that it has been removed from your wrist).
In order to credit progress towards your daily Exercise goal, the Activity app aims to identify activity that equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk. This applies both during general daily wear and when recording workouts via the Workout app. It is possible that your workouts may not be meeting this requirement.
The definition of a brisk walk varies by person and depends on your personal information. To check that your personal information is accurate - and to update it over time:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Health > Edit - tap and adjust items, then tap on Done.
Calibrating your watch improves the accuracy of various activity-related estimations, including Exercise goal progress. It may help to reset your existing calibration data (if any). Instructions for how to reset this data - along with instructions for calibrating your watch - are available via the support article linked below.
