Q: Timed out while trying to mount drive
OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.4
iMac (27 inch, Late 2009)
Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
I can no longer access my external Time Machine Drive (disk1s2).
While I can see it when I run the command line "diskutil list", it times out when I try to mount it. This also occurs when I try to access it via the "Disk Utility" app.
When I run the command line "diskutil info", the only difference compared to the other partition on the same disk is that the Journal is "Unknown (not mounted)" and the Owners are marked as "Disabled".
Here are the outputs from the command lines I ran:
*Output from "diskutil list".
/dev/disk0 (internal, physical):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *1.0 TB disk0
1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1
2: Apple_HFS Untitled 999.3 GB disk0s2
3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s3
/dev/disk1 (external, physical):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *3.0 TB disk1
1: EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1
2: Apple_HFS Time Machine 1.5 TB disk1s2
3: Apple_HFS Movies and TV 1.5 TB disk1s3
*Output from command line "diskutil mount /dev/disk1s2":
Volume on disk1s2 timed out waiting to mount
*Output from "diskutil info -all" for the specific device:
