How can I delete an iCal event without notifying the sender?

In Ical, I created a new calendar and named it spam. I then drag and dropped the recurring chinese spam in the new iCloud calendar. I then selected the new iCloud calendar I had NAMED spam and pressed the delete key. It asked if I wanted to delete the calendar and all invites would be notified. There was a button next to that that said delete without notifying. YAY! Done in 10 minutes. And yes, i am noob apple.

I received a very similar calendar invite. I don't have an Apple computer, but I have an iPad, and iPhone, and a Watch, and it's showing up on all three. It's an all day meeting that lasts until the end of September, so it's hard to ignore it and work around it. We need an option to get rid of it without declining it.

I've been getting spam invites as well. It's a workaround, but I got rid of it by creating a new iCloud calendar, moved the invite to that, and then deleted it.

It won't let me move the event. Says "Only the organizer of this event can make changes to it." I was trying to do this on iCloud app for windows as I do not have a Mac and the software is so unwieldy on the iPad, it is impossible. Any suggestions? I may just delete that calendar and hope I did not have any events that I needed. No agenda or list view makes that impossible to tell.

Sorry to be dim, but how exactly do I move the invite to the new calendar I've created?

Apple needs to fix this. I should have control over ALL notifications that are sent by my apps. However, in the meantime, this was a great workaround.

Thanks - that worked for me as well (created a new icloud calendar, named it spam, changed the event to that calendar and then deleted the calendar). Seems the spammers are always just one step ahead of everyone in new tactics.

When I delete the "Spam" calendar I just created I'm alerted that invitees of my events will be notified that the events have been canceled, and organizers of events I've been invited to will be notified that I've declined.

Is there truly no way to delete and not notify?

Strange that, I didn't see that alert when I deleted a couple of these invites via this work-around. I wonder if it's a very recent modification that the spammers have somehow introduced, rather than a feature of the calendar? What OS version are you using?

Interestingly, the "Delete without notifying" option isn't there for me. However I'm on an older version of Mac OS (10.9) and Calendar (7.0) so perhaps upgrading to a later OS will improve things for me.
