Q: Kobo Ereader Shuts Down My Mac While Charging Via USB Port
My Kobo Ereader was charging via the USB port on my Macbook Pro and when I powered off my Kobo it shut down my Mac.
I didn't realize this until I started up my Mac again and went into System Profiler and looked under "Diagnostics" and saw "Power On Self-Test" with the same date and time I hit the power button on my Kobo.
I have no idea why it would do this as the last time I charged my Kobo via the USB port on my Mac that never happened. The only difference I can think of is that today I went into my Kobo settings and changed the Power and Sleep settings "Show Cover" (when powered off) to "Do Not Show Cover" (when powered off). Now suddenly while charging (my Kobo) I hit the power button (on Kobo) my Macbook Pro shuts down. Everything appears to be fine with my Mac when I turn it on but I can't find why this happened.
Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?
Funnily enough my Kobo seems to have finally charged properly. I hadn't used it in a while and was having trouble getting it to fully charge and stay charged. That problem seems to have disappeared. I charged my Kobo the first couple of times with my Macbook Pro turned off.
MacBook Pro with Retina display, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
