Q: MacBook Won't Connect to Airport by Default, ISP SSID Instead.
Hello,
My question is in regards to my current generation Airport Express working in conjunction with my Windstream Internet service.
As my headline suggests, when I open my MacBook, it shows the WiFi icon in the menu bar as "Connecting" and then, by default, connects to the SSID ("Win_9216") of my ISP (Windstream) router.
I created a 2.5 and 5GHz network (My 2.5GHz band is titled "Mobile" for iOS devices, and the 5GHz band is titled "TV," for (you guessed it) my 4th Gen. AppleTV.) I also opted to create a "Guest" network and have noticed if my MacBook doesn't connect by default to the "Win_9216," then it will connect to the "Guest" network which usually doesn't have a great connection. I've tested it a few times and pages don't load hardly.
Loaded question, I know, sorry. But would love to discuss this issue with someone who has had similar experiences.
Thanks,
Michael
