Q: All iCloud Calendars Duplicated Multiple Times

I stopped using the default Calendar app for the most part, now relying on Fantastical across my macOS and iOS devices but when I started up Calendar on my iMac today, I noticed the same iCloud calendars (and not any other category) replicated multiple times. For example, I have 9 copies of my personal calendar, 9 copies of my TripIt calendar, 9 copies of my wife's calendar, etc. My other devices, including a MacBook and several iOS devices, as well as Fantastical on the iMac and other devices all only see one set of calendars for iCloud, as expected.

When I try to delete one of the calendar copies, it asks me if it should Delete & Notify or just Delete, seemingly implying that it will genuinely delete all the events and not just the copy of the calendar. I've disabled and re-enabled iCloud calendars in the System Preferences to try to see what it would do to no avail.

How can I fix this?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

    Hello anandman,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with iCloud calendars is not what you expect. Based on what you stated, it seems you are having issues with duplicate calendars in the Calendars app on your Mac in the iCloud account. Good news is this article has steps to resolve your specific issue:

Thanks for the article but it refers to calendars duplicated from iCloud in the On My Mac section. Mine are duplicated within the iCloud section itself. However, they are not actually duplicated on iCloud.com or my other devices so it's unique to this device. I can't follow the last part in the article where it says to backup and delete the calendar because there are many with invitees which I would like to update in the future.

Since this is an issue with only the local copy of iCloud calendars on this one machine, isn't there some database or plist I can delete to reset this from the cloud?

Thanks for replying and that additional info. Since it isn't showing duplicated on any other device or iCloud.com, the best steps would be to contact AppleCare support to further troubleshoot your iCloud calendar issue.
