Q: final cut pro and MTS video

Hi there.

I am having a real problem getting a good chroma key. I have triple checked the lighting and it is strong and consistent in the wave form. My shots are good on camera but when I transfer to FCP X and apply the key that is where the problme occurs. I am using a basic  entry sony camera on MTS format and I am wondering if this is the problme?

I am standing bewteen 6-8 feet from the green screen, a further distance is not possible.

This might not be the correct forum bt if anyone has any pointer that would be every helpful.

Many thanks

Nick

FCP X can pull great keys.

Sometimes the default already gives a great result, but there is a lot of options to refine the results.

Maybe if you post a short snippet somewhere the pros can give you more specific advice.

If you need some tips about keying in FCP X there are several episodes of MacBreak Studio where the great Steve Martin and Mark Spencer can help. Google for macbreak keying. They also have full tutorials on rippletraining.
