Q: My USB Never finishes formatting

My USB broke and I am trying to fix it so I try to reformat the USB and here's the problem the USB never finishes formatting. The USB is an 16 GB EDGE DiskGO here's a picture of what it looks likeScreenshot 2016-08-15 00.18.59.png

The blue bar at the bottom of the page just stays there and never makes any progress also at the bottom where it says estimated time remaining 33 minutes. That time keep on going up (like now it says i have 37 minutes remaining) I have left it alone for hours before hoping that it will make progress and it never has.

    The C2 model mentioned in the picture appears to be a USB flash drive. It is quite possible that the drive actually is faulty. If you have access to a PC, you may want to test reformatting the flash drive under Linux or Windows, and then try to reformat it again on a Mac. However, do not trust a possibly faulty drive. 16 GB USB flash drives are inexpensive today, so it would be wise to buy another one instead.

    So basically it could be that I might not be able to repair the drive at all being that it's a cheap one.

    See here's another picture that I just took i went to bed with the computer running all night to reformat the usb and as you can tell it mad no progress at all Screenshot 2016-08-15 10.27.16.png

     

    Also if you look at the bottom now it says 10 hours unlike last time where it said only 33 minutes.

    Try without the "case-sensitive" option.

     

    Also what Mac OS is your PowerMac running?
