Q: iPhone 6 stuck on Apple Logo screen, and too little space left to restore

Hi,

My phone was being a bit slow and weird the other day so I decided to transfer some photos to my computer. When I connected it, "Photos" popped up on the iMac but I was told there was no photos on the iPhone despite the iPhone itself saying there was a few thousand photos on it. Decided to restart the phone, but then it just came to the Apple logo screen and stayed like that for six hours until it died. Same thing happened when I re-charged it.

I read some tips online on how to fix it, by holding down the Home button and Power button so that iTunes notices it. That work and I tried to fix it by "upgrading" it but was then told I needed to clear more space on it before I could do that - which is impossible since I can't access the phone ... Then tried the "restore" function instead but I was told the same: need to clear up more space. So it seems that I'm in a bit of a problem here.

Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
