Q: Safari cannot connect to server...

I'm having issues with safari on my iMac.

Some websites cannot load at all cos safari says it cannot connect to the server. The odd thing is I can connect to those websites on my iPhone which is using the same internet connection over wi-fi, so I dunno what my mac is doing that my iPhone isn't.

I also tried to do an update on my mac, and it couldn't connect to the server..

Can anybody help with this please?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
