Upgraded iPhone 5, now lost carrier service

I upgraded to 9.3.4 this morning and have now lost my Verizon service. Not Verizon problem as my husband has service. Anyone else had this problem and know how to solve it. Have tried rebooting, turning all cellular service off and on including airplane mode to no avail. Any point in contacting Verizon?
