iPhone via USB

I left my phone with a company for a repair. I've just realised that when you plug a charging cable into your iPhone and connect it to the laptop, it will open up all cloud files and allow access to photographs and files on the phone. Obviously this is a risk that I wasn't aware of. Is there any way to check the last activity on my phone and whether any files have been copied out into another location? I discovered this when I plugged my locked phone into my laptop. I have iCloud on my laptop, so unless there was verification between these two accounts (to say that the phone was recognised) could an unknown computer (from this repair company) have accessed my files?

I cannot imagine what you mean by this.

If you mean that simply plugging an iPhone into a computer's USB port would bypass all the security on the iPhone, imagine what all the iPhone thieves would do with this newfound knowledge! Stealing an iPhone would suddenly become very worthwhile as the iPhone's security could simply be bypassed by plugging into a USB port.

Obviously this is false.
