I have a new Apple TV (which I know works) and am trying to do plug and play on older Samsung flatscreen just to watch shows on bigger monitor instead of iPad. Should be simple, should be plug TV in and plug Apple TV into HDMI, but on this particular one I'm getting HDMI no signal. I don't have cable hook-up but shouldn't need it, I just want to watch my own stuff. Ideas?
1- Check the input setting on the Samsung.
2- Try a different HDMI cable.
3- Try another HDMI source (device like a DVD player) if both the above are OK.

If you by no remote mean not apple TV remote you can use the remote app on an ios device
If you hasn't set that up on an ios device you're out of luck
Or hold Menu and volume down for at least 5 seconds to start trying all video modes until you get a picture. Click on okay when it works. Have you already setup the ATV or is it brand new?
