iMessage keeps getting shut off on my iPhone 6 plus

MY ex husband and I have the same model I phone6 plus. I keep getting asked to verify my Apple ID on my iPhone and iPad mini. There's two different ID's on iPad and iPhone. I noticed my text messages have not been secure. As a matter of fact I've had a lot of problems with text messages on my phone. I noticed my ex having same issue as far as being asked to validate his Apple ID on his phone. The phones in his name on my cell account. he is my ex and we are going through a divorce. Could he be spying on my cell phone. I can't encrypt messages. I tried. Can someone help me figure this out.

You didn't note the most pertinent detail: are you both using the same Apple ID. If yes, then it's normal behavior to have messages displayed on both iPhones. If not, does your ex know your Apple ID and password. If yes, then nothing stops him from logging in using those credentials.

Don't share Apple IDs and change your passwords.

As to "my text messages have not been secure," you'll have to explain what lead you to that conclusion.
