I'm trying to setup an email account in the Mail app on Mac OSX and every time I finish setting up the account with the correct parameters it changes the account into a Google account and basically doesn't work. I think I know WHY this is occuring but I can't figure out how to bypass this problem: I'm trying to connect to a domain that is secured by an SSL certificate. This domain has an MX record which points to google but I want the account to connect to the address specified in the A record. This works on every major mail client I've tried EXCEPT the OSX Mail.app.
So I guess my question boils down to: How do I setup the account so that it is secured and stops switching to a Google account?
