Q: Streaming movies

IT seems that the movies app on my iPad only effectively streams movies when connected to a 5g wifi network.  However, I can stream movies through Vudu connected on a lesser wifi network.  Is there an issue? Is there a fix in the works?  Disappointing that Vudu would work better than IOS movies app.

iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.4

The iOS Videos app is not a "streaming"app.

While it may appear that way, the iTunes content is actually downloading content to your iDevice/s as you are watching the previous downloaded data.

Depending on how fast your download speed is, you maybe experiencing buffering issues while the video/movie content is downloading while you are trying to watch the previous loading content.

It is best to let some of the video/movie content download, first, to keep ahead of the data that is still downloading to your iDevice, then start watching the video or movie.

I just, usually, wait until the entire video or movie completely downloads to my iPad/s before I start watching.

    Good Luck!

I appreciate the answer, and accept it for what it is.  However, I think apple is dropping the ball with this.  I should have the option and ability to either download the movie to my device, or to stream it if I don't want to store it locally.  Apple really needs to re-assess how they deliver movie content via stream.

Apple's iTunes store is NOT a streaming service.

They deal in paid rental or purchased media content that you install on your iDevice.

You want to stream TV shows and movies, look to services from Amazon, Vudu, Netflix or Hulu or free movie streaming services like Crackle.
