Can't find my installed HP printer driver

I downloaded HP drivers 3.1 for my Mac and after installing, I can't find them anywhere. The installation was successful but I can't find them in Applications or anywhere else..

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

They should be in (home folder)/Library/Printers/. They might otherwise be in (hard disk)/Library/Printers/ or even (hard disk)/System/Library/Printers/ though the one in the Home Folder is most likely. This Library is hidden by default, so if yours is, in the Finder go to the ‘Go’ menu and hold down the Option (Alt) key; the Library folder will appear as a choice.

According to https://support.apple.com/HT201465 the driver 3.1 doesn't include scanning (and in any case an actual scanning program wouldn't be in that folder, it would be in Applications). Look at that page and see whether your printer is listed there. Otherwise you could try HP's site (though it may well refer you back to the Apple download page) or a separate scanner program. Start by trying Image Capture (in Applications); there are third-party programs such as VueScan.
