Q: How do i get all data off of my time capsule?
Hey everyone, just trying to figure out how to get all the data off of my time capsule in one clean swoop without doing it over wifi because it takes way too long.

The "Quick Erase" option for the Time Capsule in AirPort Utility will only take a few minutes. This would be OK if you plan to keep the Time Capsule and just want to start over again with new backups.
If you plan to sell the Time Capsule, then you would want to use the "Zero Out Data" option for a secure type of erase.....which will take approximately 6-9 hours depending on how much data that you have on the Time Capsule.
To see the options, open AirPort Utility.....(Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility)
Click on the picture of the Time Capsule
Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Disks tab at the top of the next window
Click Erase Disk
When you click Erase Disk, the erase options will appear. Choose the one that you need, then click Erase.
