Q: Midi keyboard driver for MacBookPro vintage Roland keybord

Hello to the whole Apple community,

Enjoying apple for years, I am currently looking for solutions to match my vintage Roland midi Keybord

to my MacBook Pro to play under garageband.

This Roland midi Keybord is a vintage model (90's or less) - it is the SK 88 Pro model.

Professional and full of amazing sound. It used to work until I changed the OS to El Capitan.

Apple is full of solutions and amazing community members. May you have some pieces of advise or the solutions,

for this music instrument links from Roland to Apple, I will be grateful and rewarding to the ones having the key for this.

Have a great summer, looking forward to reading you

Best

    Well hey there Niko79!!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities and a Happy Summer to you as well! Garageband is such an amazing place where we can all be creative and publish wonderful content. I, too, have an amazing keyboard. Mine is an older Yamaha that I've tried connecting with my Mac. In most cases, all that's required is a driver update from the manufacturer. Here's the information from the GarageBand Help:

Be sure to follow the instructions that came with the keyboard, which may include installing the correct driver on your computer. Check the manufacturer’s website for the latest driver software. If you’re using a MIDI interface, be sure to follow the instructions that came with the interface.

Due to the specifics of your device, the best solution would be to reach out to Roland Support to confirm if such an update exists for OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan.
