Q: My Time Capsule has its data corrupted - What can I do

I have a 1TB time capsule which was bought in around 2009, it has not worked for a few months now so decided to take it into the apple store, only to find out that the data on there is corrupted. I don't have the money to fork out a couple hundred quid for someone to retrieve the data. Is there anything else I can do, surely it's bad design and apple fault that the data was corrupted, I have never moved it from the same position nor have I disconnected while backing it up.

Help please

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, help is not coming. Even if you were willing to pay for the service, there would be no value in paying a good deal to have someone retrieve backups that are corrupted. The data is useless.

If you want to keep the Time Capsule, erase the disk and start over with a new backup and more forward. Add another USB drive to the USB port on the Time Capsule and back up all the data on the Time Capsule to the USB drive maybe once a month.

When....not if....the data on the Time Capsule drive becomes corrupted again, you will at least have most of your data backed up on another drive.

If you want to sell the Time Capsule, then a simple USB drive connected to your Mac would be a much better way to back up the data on your Mac.
